Movie sequels, success or flop?

Published on March 7, 2011 by in Humor

Looking at the sequels like Highlander, sure people can’t get enough of their greediness, and so they produce a flop me. But when it comes to movies like Spider-Man, Zombieland and Resident Evil? With all due respect, Resident Evil have had the best sequels coming up in the past year with all the zombie thriller and the action being just in place and the old faces coming back, over again. That is just what a sequel should be like, making people to want more of it. But movies like Highlander, maybe one is just enough. Hollywood maybe running out of ideas, perhaps, looking at how many mistaken films it has been showcasing, lately.

Spider-Man, it had up and downs since the first movie got out. Although, the first part was the best one yet, the latest Spider-Man flick, The Amazing Spider-Man, starring all new stars, Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, maybe just the new perfect cast? Andrew Garfield was seen in The Social Network, an award winning movie about how Facebook was developed and all the controversies that took place regarding it, whereas the Easy A star, Emma Stone is being credited as the new superstar in Hollywood, at present, looking at how wonderfully she has been showing herself off, everywhere.

Batman, well, the first three movies were the best ones, indeed, but the last one was a disgrace, perhaps. Just like Superman, the last one was liked by some and hated by many, the original movies are always better.

Harry Potter, not far behind in this league is well appreciated by everyone, all its sequels were a success and the last one was rejoiced over by all the kids and the adults. Funny how we saw Harry, Hermoine and Ron grow up altogether in the movies surprisingly, with all their wizardry might and spells. It presented one new concept in all of its movies, maybe, that was the reason why it wasn’t a flop, ever.

Twilight faced a number of controversies and disregard by those who loved the books, not forgetting the fact that with all the little girls getting mad about Edward Cullen, it did become a success but maybe the books are anytime better than the movies that they are molded into. A number of things get minus when it comes to movies that are made with the concept adapted from a book which abandons the originality, rather.

The funniest cameo of 2009, Zombieland has the rumors going around that maybe there would be a Zombieland 2, too, but that would be only if the old cast stays and don’t have any problem with the new dragged off script that would be presented, later. Emma Stone also starred in this film, along with Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin, slaying off zombies with a good humor.

The bottom line is, if there is going to be a sequel to any movie, there should be a new concept present in that very film and the old one shouldn’t be dragged off, too far.
